Food was sooo delicious and fresh! I have been to other A2B in US, but none of them was as good as this one. It’s a little expensive, but for the quality of food it’s definitely worth it! Delicious food and wonderful service!

Service was friendly and the food was good with very large portions. Staff was kind and the manager/owner was very kind to our kids during our experience. Space is well decorated and clean. Prices generally in line with typical South Indian in NYC.

Second time at Adyar Ananda Bhavan and had an excellent meal. For appetizers we shared idli and vada combo and it was delicious. For mains we got ghee masala dosa and rava onion chilli dosa. Both were excellent. We asked for some dosa podi on the side (gun powder masala mixed with ghee). Way better than Saravana Bhavan. Enjoyed our meal. Ended up trying utthapam and was amazing as well.

If you want authentic South Indian food, this is THE place! I haven’t found a better one in Manhattan. I've been here many times and have tried many of their things: onion rava, masala, paneer rava, cocktail fried idk I, lemon rice, veggie uttapam, paneer uttapam, masala dosa, paneer masala dosa and I can confidently say it's one of the best South Indian food in the city - everything is cooked to perfection and the chutneys and sambar are perfectly stewed and flavored. I can't rave enough about the taste! The service used to be really bad with this man who was kind of rude but has changed and the staff now is a younger much nicer crowd. I’ve taken my Indian family who don’t shy away from critiquing food and even then loved it. I’ve also it introduced South Indian to my friends here. The place is a kind of hole in the wall ambiance, but if you’re not into trendy but good spots this is a much for South Indian. The prices are also very responsible for Manhattan.

This place has been our mainstay for south Indian food in NYC over the years. After a hiatus of several years due to the pandemic, we revisited A2B for indoor dining and greatly enjoyed ourselves. The idli vada combo, the Rasam, and the butter masala Dosa were excellent as always. The Rava Masala dosa felt a tad chewy (not as crisp as I remembered) but overall, we were very pleased with the experience. The Gulab Jamun was a nice way to round out the meal. This place is worth a visit if you're craving South Indian food in NYC! Update: Went back for more great food! The experience was great, even though they had issues with sending the food to the wrong tables, which led to longer than expected wait times. Hope they resolve this quickly! We had the Rocket Dosa, the Bullet Dosa (dosa with Pav Bhaji Masala inside it), and the South Indian Thali. All were excellent!
